June 2013

I have to start out by saying on behalf of myself and the HMCAC board THANK YOU to everyone who attended Tiger Trek. The event was ausome with more than 500 guests and upwards of $15,000 raised for scholarships. We could not be happier and cannot thank you enough for helping us welcome Coach Malzahn t0the Rocket City! I also need to say a special Thanks to our Corporate Sponsors, T Mobile and Jerry Damson- their generosity toward our scholarship program truly helped make Tiger Trek a success.

Also, to all of you who contributed to our POWER OF 100 campaign, we have passed our goal of $10,000 and are not done yet! We will continue to accept contributions throughout the year and will utilize 100% of dollars raised for scholarships. Without a doubt, you have proven the true power of 100... and beyond. THANK YOU!

For those of you who were not able to attend, we want to make sure that you know about all the initiatives we have ongoing and what's coming up later this year. We have three brand new scholarship recipients to honor, as well as our upcoming golf tournament and HMCAC Young Alumni events. We look forward to seeing everyone very soon and hope you all have a terrific summer.

The Huntsville Madison County Auburn Club is having a great year so far and would like to invite everyone to jump on the “Gus Bus” with us! We recently had our 2013 Recruiting Wrap-up meeting with Mark Murphy from Inside the Auburn Tigers Magazine and With almost 100 people in attendance we got a close up view of the 2013 recruiting class and began to build some excitement and anticipation for the coming season. Looking forward to a great A-Day game!

Our club is all about promoting the Auburn spirit and raising money for scholarships for local students. We are currently in the midst of our Power of 100 campaign. We have already exceeded our goal of 100 people, contributing $100 each with 100% going to local scholarship winners, but with rising tuition costs, we still need more help. Please consider a $100 donation today. We also have designed a new Rocket City Gus Bus t-shirt. You can email Lee Thompson to order yours today for only $20 each.

Please mark your calendars for two major events coming Spring & Summer! Tiger Trek with Coach Malzahn will be Tuesday, May 7th and our annual Golf Tournament will be Monday, July 15th. Also the Young Auburn Alumni group is planning some great activities contact Suzanne at for more details.
